I’m intrigued by the possibilities that AI brings to the film industry, particularly in the area of responsible development. If developed right, AI can offer new filmmaking tools for storytelling special effects, and post-production that were previously unimaginable. It’s about enhancing the craft, not replacing it. I also see transparency as a tool rather than a burden. By communicating AI’s role in the filmmaking process, we can maintain the integrity of the art form while embracing new technologies. We can actually foster trust and interest in how films are made, adding a new dimension to audience engagement. Regarding intellectual property rights, I believe that AI-generated content should be seen as a collaborative effort. Just as we credit multiple people in the filmmaking process, we can adapt our understanding of authorship to include AI as a tool, with clear guidelines on who owns what.
